Denise Diaz

Denise Diaz entered eternal life at the age of 53, on October 16, 2022, in Amarillo, TX, with her family by her side.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 24, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Denise was born in Albuquerque, NM on September 10, 1969, and resided in Amarillo, TX. Her favorite color was red which reminded her of her favorite holiday, Christmas. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and found herself being competitive when it came to decorating for the holidays. She had a smile like no other; that lit up every room. She always put others before herself and she found peace and joy to see her family happy. She was known as the life of the party. She was a strong and healthy woman until she was diagnosed in 2020 with colon cancer. Although she won her first battle, this second time around was a fight like no other. She fought hard each day living life to the fullest. In her eyes, she would say she lost, but in our eyes, she was a warrior that never quit. She is flying high with the angels watching above happy as can be. She was a homemaker and loving loyal wife, mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother, she was always there when we needed her.

Denise Diaz was preceded in death by her mother, Annabelle Herrera.

She was survived by her husband, Elias Cortez Diaz; her daughters, Vanessa Diaz, Ashley Diaz, and Jessica Diaz; her grandkids, Juliana Diaz, Aaliyah Hernandez, Analicia Hernandez, Samantha Acosta, Javier Acosta Jr., Genesis Acosta, Christian Diaz, Azaylea Diaz, and Ayvah Lopez; her father, Eulalio Herrera; and her brother and sisters, Donna Herrera, Darlene Herrera, Dolores Herrera, Doreen Herrera, Eulalio Marc and Misty Herrera (wife), and Diane Herrera. She had many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.  She was loved by many, and her spirit and memories will live forever.
