Deborah Leigh Ann Schauerte

Deborah Leigh Ann Schauerte, 59, of Dumas, died on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 20, 2024, at Encounter Church with Anthony Curran officiating. Private burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox Ave.

Deborah was born October 1, 1964, in Dumas to Jimmy and Marilyn Walker. She graduated from Dumas High School in 198,3 and earned her bachelor’s degree in Albuquerque. She had worked as a computer programmer for over 25 years for Northrop Grumman. She helped with the Wildlife Refuge nursing animals back to health. She loved animals and especially caring for her special needs cats. She attended Calvary Chapel.

She was preceded in death by a niece, Chloe Rogers.

She is survived by her parents, Jimmy and Marilyn Walker of Dumas; a sister, Cindy Ethridge and husband Jason of Dumas; a niece, Erin Napp of Dumas; a nephew, Thomas Napp of New Braunfels; and a great-niece, Mireya Valenciano.

The family will be at 500 Pecan.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Great Plains Nursing and Rehab; 315 E. 19th St., Dumas, Texas 79029.
