Debbie Ann Dunavin

Debbie Ann Dunavin, 66, of Amarillo, TX passed away peacefully in her home with loved ones by her side on Sunday, August 28, 2022.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 2, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Boulevard with Mike’s cousin Guy Walker officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Debbie was born on March 28, 1956, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Robert and Jean Ingels. She and her family moved to Amarillo when Debbie was in second grade. Debbie graduated from Caprock High School in 1974.

She met her best friend and the love of her life, Mike Dunavin, in high school and they married on July 5, 1973. They are lifelong residents of Amarillo, Texas. Debbie and Mike built an amazing life together, raising a family that made her extremely proud. There was nothing Debbie loved more than to spend time with family. She made many fond memories over the years vacationing with friends and family. She enjoyed relaxing near a campfire with her brothers and their families during annual trips to Tres Ritos, New Mexico. Riding bikes with her children and grandchildren in Kiawah Island and laughing on roller coasters at Disney World. She liked playing the slot machines with Mike and her sisters-in-law. She cherished these memories and many more throughout her lifetime.

Debbie enjoyed her profession in the banking industry and cherished the lifelong friendships she formed. Retiring from banking in 2008 allowed Debbie to spend more time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She also treasured the extra time she spent with her parents and brothers working on family-owned rental properties.

Debbie has been reunited in Heaven with her dad, Bob Ingels, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Bobby and Lavern Dunavin and her sister-in-law Dana Ingels.

Those left to miss her every day until we meet again include her loving husband Mike Dunavin, her daughter April Tucker and husband Gannon, her son Jarrod Dunavin and wife Kelly, her grandchildren Baylee and Evan Tucker and Avery and Jackson Dunavin, her mom Jean Ingels, her brother Steve Ingels and wife Marena, brother Dale Ingels, and brother David Ingels.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Debbie’s clinical team at MD Anderson for their compassionate and loving care. As wonderful as the doctors were at MD Anderson, no one could have taken better care of Debbie than our dad, Mike. Thank you, dad, for loving mom the way you do.
