David Lee Hardgrove, 68, of Amarillo, TX died Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. Howard K. Batson, First Baptist Church, officiating.
David was born October 14, 1955, in Bonham, TX to Byron and Leota Hardgrove. Following graduation from Friona High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting at Texas Tech University.
David married Rebecca Pelfrey on February 29, 2008.
For more than 37 years, David owned his own accounting practice. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Rotary Club of Amarillo, Amarillo Better Business Bureau, and in 2023, David won the Torch Award for ethics. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing poker, going to car races, and traveling. He especially enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas.
Both parents preceded him in death, most recently his mother, Leota Hardgrove, passed away on March 7, 2024.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Hardgrove, of Amarillo, TX; children, Valerie Lopez and husband David, of Albuquerque, NM, Allison Fluck and husband Jonathan, of Rockwall, TX, Melissa Francis and husband Robbie, of Lubbock, TX, David Preston Hardgrove, of Austin, TX, Amy Adams and husband Chris, of Flower Mound, TX, and David Robert Carr, of Dallas, TX; fourteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
