Darla Jeanne (Snow) Sutton, 78, passed away on July 24, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas. Darla was born November 3, 1945, in Pampa, Texas, to T.D. Snow and Doris Mae (Scott) Snow.
Darla received her GED and attended Frank Philips College in Borger, Texas, and Amarillo College where she received an Associate of Science Degree in 1981. She attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas, received a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1982 and received a Master of Science Degree from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas, in 1995. All of her college degrees are in Education with certifications in Special Education and Administration. Darla only lacked 3 hours completing her Doctorate Degree.
Darla was a special education classroom teacher for 50 years and had served as an Assistant Director of Premier High School in Amarillo, Texas, for the past 3 years. Education and Christian service were her passions.
Darla had been a teacher and a counselor at the Apostolic Faith Bible College in Baxter Springs, Kansas and a co-pastor, with her husband, of the Trinity Apostolic Faith Church in Alvin, Texas. She was also an ordained minister.
Darla was a member of and very active in the Mount of Blessing SDA Church in Amarillo, Texas and had a special calling in the areas of Women’s Ministries and Christian Counseling. She was an ordained Deaconess and ordained Elder.
A memorial service will announced at a later date.
She was preceded in death by her parents T.D. and Doris Snow, and her youngest sister Kay Crotwell, all of Pampa, Texas.
She is survived by her husband Garry Sutton of the home in Amarillo, Texas, a sister Sharon Gordon and husband Kenny of Sayre, Oklahoma, a brother John Snow of Borger, Texas, a daughter Cynthia Johnson of Amarillo, a daughter Angla Richardson of Orange Grove, Texas, a son James Cahill of Amarillo, Texas, a son Garry (Bud) Sutton, Jr. and wife LaRinda of Cyril, Oklahoma, a brother-in-law Austin Sutton and wife Shirley of Taneyville, Missouri, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 more currently on the way, nieces, nephews, multiple cousins, a huge host of friends, and many Brother and Sisters in Christ consisting of many in several groups and denominations and our home church of Mount of Blessing SDA in Amarillo, Texas. Oh, how she loved her home church.
