D. Gaile Fowler

D. Gaile Fowler, 88, of Amarillo died Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2525 Wimberly Rd. Amarillo, TX  79109.  Rev. Stuart Smith will officiate the services and arrangements will be provided by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Gaile was born January 23, 1935, in Lindale Texas, to Roy and Grace Scott. She married Keith Fowler on January 15, 2000, in Amarillo.

She attended Texas Tech University, was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and served with the Junior League of Amarillo.

As an avid tennis player, Gaile participated in tournaments, league play and many afternoons on the court with children and grandchildren. She regularly attended bridge club with close friends and enjoyed playing Skipbo with her grandchildren.

Gaile learned to play golf so she could enjoy Keith’s enthusiasm and knowledge of the sport.  They valued their time together on the golf course and shared that love with children and grandchildren.  Gaile enjoyed getting together and playing golf regularly with friends.

Gaile was blessed with many friends and was deeply proud of those relationships.  She was patient, welcoming and generous with her two son’s never ending invasion of friends.  A trait she graciously embraced by being born into a large family of 12 siblings.

Gaile cherished her walk with our Lord and was very thankful for Westminster Presbyterian serving as her place of worship.

She was preceded in death by her husband Keith Fowler.

Gaile is survived by her son Jim Farrell, his wife Danielle of Santa Fe, NM, her son Mike Farrell and his wife Jan of Cypress, TX.  Gaile is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  Gaile has one surviving sister.

The family suggests memorials be sent to Presbyterian Childrens’ Home, 3400 Bowie St., Amarillo, TX 79109; or a favorite charity.
