Cruz Hernandez, 71, of Amarillo, TX passed away on March 31, 2022.

Services will be at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 5, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Cruz was born in Karnes City, TX on September 14, 1950, to Julia and Eugenio Gutierrez.

Cruz was a loving and great mother, grandmother, and sister. She was more than happy to be a central figure in the lives of her children. Anyone that knew her, knew that she was a star in their eyes and that was all that ever truly mattered to her.

Survivors include her sons, Rocky Hernandez and wife Elizabeth Lopez, of Amarillo, TX, Joe “Pun” Hernandez and wife Demetria Amador, of Amarillo, TX, and Ryan Gutierrez, of Dumas, TX; grandchildren, Ivan Hernandez, Emily Hernandez, Samantha Hernandez, Marcus Lopez, Andrew Lopez, Jada Hernandez, Jessalyn Hernandez, Joe Hernandez, Reyna Pedrosa, Rafael Pedrosa, Richard Pedrosa, and Santiago Amador; brothers and sisters, Gregeorio Gutierrez, Guadalupe Gutierrez, Ernesto Gutierrez, Victor Gutierrez, Anita Williams, Maria Catano, Julie Gutierrez, and Joise Gutierrez.
