Connie was born in Amarillo, Texas on January 13, 1941, to Oletha Maxine (Price) and James C. Lawson. She was in the band in junior high and a twirler in high school. Connie loved playing bridge, watching the Dallas Cowboys Football, Texas Rangers Baseball, and NASCAR; her favorite drivers being Dale Earnhart Sr. and Dale Earnhart Jr. She has a large collection of frogs and one of her greatest joys was re-decorating rooms in her home. She was part of Daughters of the Nile, Queen of the Nile, PTA President while her children were younger, a longtime secretary at Polk Street United Methodist Church, and owned her own maternity clothing shop. She loved regular Coca-Cola, going to the fair parade, watching the annual Lone Star Ballet Nutcracker, a good greasy cheeseburger, and she bowled a perfect game! Connie enjoyed spending time with her family and in her downtime she would watch Seinfeld, Dancing With the Stars, Castle, and Dirty Dancing. She would always say, “Don’t put baby in the corner.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Maxine Lawson; and her brother, Jess Lawson.

Connie is survived by her husband Charles Kelln; daughters, Laurie Trainor and husband Wayne of Wayland, MI, and Elizabeth Kelln Ford and husband Jeremy of Amarillo, TX; son, Jay Kelln and wife Lesa of Amarillo, TX; sister, Judy Foster-Lawson and partner Diane Foster of Richardson, TX; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Cooper of Amarillo, TX, Lauren Cooper of Austin, TX, Andrew Jones of Amarillo, TX, and Caroline Nolen of San Antonio, TX.
