Colleen was born on August 18, 1939, in Hollis, Oklahoma, to Heston and Viola Laseman. She graduated from Hollis High School as Valedictorian in 1957, spent one year at Oklahoma Baptist University, and then earned her Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license from Baylor Dental College in 1960. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in 1977. Colleen met Phillip Eugene "Oogie" Hamilton at Training Union at the First Baptist Church in Amarillo on July 9, 1961. They were married on June 30, 1962. Over the years, they lived in various places, including Amarillo, Lubbock, Fort Worth, and Pampa, as well as spending three years in Houston. They returned to Pampa for 19 years before finally moving back to Amarillo in 2000.

Colleen was an active member in her community and church. In Pampa she served on the School Board and the Hospice Board. She also served on the Region 16 Education Service Center Board. At First Baptist Amarillo she helped lead Yarns of Hope. She and Eugene served as hosts at Glorieta for a number of years. Many new members to First Amarillo were welcomed with her chocolate chip cookies in the new member’s class. She also went on dental mission trips to Jamaica and Brazil. She loved going on mission trips to help others who had never had dental care, using her skills to serve Christ after retirement. She served as a Sunday School teacher in various churches since the age of 19. She said she benefited as much from preparation for teaching as her students.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Heston and Viola Laseman; and her sister, Doris Laseman Wheeler and her husband Rodney Wheeler; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Rhine and Victor Hamilton.

Colleen is survived by husband Eugene; daughter Julie Prudhome and husband Dale, and their children Parker, Luke, Ellis, and Nathan Prudhome; daughter Laura Seals, and her children Tressa, Eliora, and Ridge Seals. She is survived by two sisters-in-law: Phillis Hamilton Rhine and Juanita (Victor)Hamilton.
