Claud Allen Cooksey, 92, of Dumas died on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 3, 2025 at First Baptist Church with Matthew Price officiating. Burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.
Claud was born on November 13, 1932 in Mangum, Ok. to Frank and Geneva Cooksey. He graduated from Reed High School. He married Ramona McCulloch on October 28, 1950 in Hobart, Ok. They moved to Dumas and he began working for Diamond Shamock for over 40 years until retirement. He enjoyed traveling to Colorado, fishing and playing golf. He was a member of First Baptist Church and had volunteered for many years. He loved spending time with his lovely wife, children, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Cooksey on February 11, 2014.
He is survived by two sons, Larry A. Cooksey and wife Twanna of Washougal, Wa. And Rickey J. Cooksey and fiancé Lajenia Levey of Montrose, Co; two daughters, Claudia D. Wolosz of Richardson and Brenda S. Vaught and husband Steve of Littlefield, Tx.; nine grandchildren, Arelenda and husband Brad, Amberlee and husband Guy, Megan, Reed, Riley, Cally, Michael and wife Stephanie, Mitchell, and Matthew and wife Sara; fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be sent to the Memorial Nursing & Rehab Activity Fund, 302 E. 2nd, Dumas, Texas 79029.
