Clark Lane Ross, 70, of Colorado Springs, CO, died Sunday, May 7, 2023, in Amarillo, TX.
Services will be at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will be at Noon, Friday, May 12, 2023, at Pike’s Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, CO. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Clark was born May 22, 1952, in Vardaman, MS to Bettye Jo and Lou Starnes. He moved to Texas at the age of 3. He graduated from Tulia High School. Clark joined the Army in 1974, served a tour in Germany, and earned the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He also was awarded Driver’s Edge, Mechanics Badge, and Sharpshooter Badge. He was honorably discharged in 1978, at the rank of Sergeant.
He married Mi Chin Choe on November 16, 1973, in Seoul, Korea.
Clark had a lifetime truck driving career and was a lifetime VFW member.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Jean Ross; mother, Bettye Starnes; father, Lou Starnes; and brother, Thurman Ross.
He is survived by his wife, Mi Chin Ross; children, Jacob Ross (Shin-Hye), Annie Pope (Jai), and Waltus Ross; grandchildren, Isiah Pope, Marissa Pope, Jai Pope Jr., Joshua Ross (Ashley), and Christian Ross; and siblings, Kay Weilhart, John Ross, Wesley Ross, and Donald Starnes.
