Cindy Simpson – December 18, 2017

Cynthia Marie Simpson, age 57, passed away on December 18, 2017.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Known as Cindy among her friends and family she was born on March 12, 1960 in Amarillo, Texas to John Wesley Crawford and Shirley Sue Saxton.
Cindy attended Ridgecrest Elementary School for the first two years of her education and it was during this time that her parents chose to separate and later divorce. As a result, she relocated to California along with her mother and sisters.
She completed her grade school education at Olive Elementary School and went on to attend Baldwin Park High School. During her freshman year she decided to move back to Amarillo and finish her education at Tascosa High School.
After graduation she began working for the City of Amarillo where she met her husband Robert Simpson. Together they raised their daughter Tosha until they divorced fifteen years later.
She held various positions in a variety of businesses, but her favorite job was working at banks and credit unions. She could turn on the charm when she wanted to and loved helping her customers.
One of her special talents was her cooking. She made the best fried chicken in all of Texas and made sure that she had plenty to feed the whole neighborhood so it seemed. To say she was a wonderful cook is an understatement.
Among her many loves and interests was time spent at Possum Kingdom Lake and the beaches of California with family and friends. But her true love was the time spent with her grandchildren, Maddox and Nolan. Her love and devotion was never more present than it was when she was with them and her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Tosha Marie Villegas and her husband Chris, her sisters Pat Crawford from California and Darlene Coburn from Tennessee, her brother Mike Rowlette from California, her stepsisters Regina Faulkner, Diana Doyle, and Denise Riggs all from Amarillo, her grandsons Maddox and Nolan, her niece Courtney Coburn and her two sons Caden and Elijah along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
