Christina Mae Burroughs

July 7, 1980 — December 21, 2024

Christina Mae Burroughs, 44, of Amarillo, TX passed away on December 21, 2024.

Celebration of life services will take place at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. Howard K. Batson as officiant. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Christina was born on July 7, 1980 in Amarillo, TX to Calvin and Lorene Honea. Christina was a devoted homemaker, a loving Christian wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Christina had a kind, giving heart and a great sense of humor. Almost anytime she returned from a shopping trip, she would return with a gift for everyone but herself. Shopping was therapy for her.

Christina enjoyed movies, playing BINGO, reading the Bible along with her Amish Novels, and most of all, spending time with her family and beloved pets. Although Christina’s health circumstances made it difficult to attend church, she never failed to watch the televised First Baptist Church service on Sundays. Being born 8 and 9 years after her two older sisters, Christina was adored and spoiled by her whole family. Later on, Christina was blessed enough to meet her husband, Jesse and be spoiled by him as well.

Christina is preceded in death by her grandparents, Calvin Sr. and Betty Honea, David and Aletta Irvin; her mother, Alice Lorene Honea; and her uncle, Garry Irwin.

She is survived by her husband Jesse; daughters, Shylah Brown and Callie Burroughs; her father, Calvin Honea Jr.; sisters, Sandy Herrington and Melissa Banks and husband Steve; mother-in-law, Nickie Burroughs; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her beloved pet, Keasha.

Christina’s memory will live on through the love and fond memories shared by her family.

Memorial donations may be made in Christina’s name to Amarillo SPCA.
