It is with great sadness that the family of Chelsea Diane Fielding announces her passing. Chelsea, 36, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024, with family at her side. She was born on December 1, 1987, in Amarillo, TX, to Cristi and Rod Fielding.
Services will be held in the Student Ministry Center at Trinity Fellowship Church (5000 Hollywood Rd., Amarillo, TX 79118) on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11:00 am. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Chelsea is preceded in death by grandparents Shirley and Aubrey Fielding; grandfather Bill Thompson; uncle Steven Crawford; and cousin, PJ Taylor.
Chelsea is survived by her parents Cristi and Rod Fielding; sister and brother-in-law Cassie and Chris Wyman, and their son Parker; honorary sister Rebecca Redus Smith, and her children, Lucy and Henry; grandmother Glenice Thompson; grandfather Tommy Crawford and his wife, Jackie; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as many, many, many friends; and last, but certainly not least, her beloved dog, Milly.
Chelsea attended her first two years of high school at Tascosa and her last two years at Amarillo High, where she graduated with honors in 2006. During those years, she played volleyball, ran track, and discovered her passion for cross country running. Chelsea went on to attend Texas Christian University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and in 2010, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting and finance. She continued in her education and was accepted into the prestigious Neely School of Business at TCU, where she earned a master’s degree in accounting in 2011. Chelsea was a highly accomplished Tax Manager at BNSF Railway. She was awarded employee of the year in 2019, and she recently celebrated 10 years doing a job she loved at a company she respected.
Chelsea took great pride in her career, but she cared even more about her people. She was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, coworker, and neighbor. These people, whom she cared for so deeply, describe her as a devoted Christian, a genuine and thoughtful friend, an active and available listener, a loyal TCU football fan, a proud aunt, spontaneous, adventurous, smart, ambitious, dedicated, silly, and fun. She so easily formed a connection with anyone who was willing - from a family member, to a coworker, to the person seated next to her on an airplane - Chelsea never met a stranger, and she walked away from every interaction with a genuine bond. Her love is her legacy.
