Charmane Louise Crawford, 78, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, in Tascosa Road Fellowship with Victor Young, associate pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Charmane was born April 4, 1935, in Perryton to Duane and Louise Roberts. Charmane was married to C.A. Crawford. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She was the administrative assistant to the base commander at Amarillo Air Force Base until its closure. She then became an English teacher in Amarillo, Panhandle and Lubbock until her retirement in 1996. She was an avid traveler and she took many students on European tours for many summers during her teaching years.
Survivors include three daughters, Valli Taylor and husband William of Amarillo, Judy Cudd and husband Dennis of Wellington and Peggie Vaughn and husband Ronnie of Midland; a son, Dan Crawford and wife Dale of Irving; seven grandchildren, Dennis, Douglas, Anthony, Chelsea, Curt, Abbi and Mandy; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
