Charles “Chuck” Smith

Charles “Chuck” Smith, of Amarillo, Texas born on July 12, 1949, passed away on April 20, 2023,

leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered by those who knew him best. He was a husband to Martha Smith of Amarillo, Tx, and a father to Jeffery Smith of San Antonio and Angela Smith of Elk City, as well as a grandfather to seven grandchildren, including Sidonie Smith, Erin Smith, ShayLynn Ham, Dalton Rios, Kaleb Smith, Kaitlyn Pearce, and Cayleigh Pearce and four great-grandchildren, including Declan Ham, Delanie Harrelson, Olivia Comer, and Elizabeth Comer.  He was also step-father to Jennifer Hodges of Amarillo and great-step grandfather to Alyssa Hodges, Allyssa Curry , Emma Hodges, and Kaden Hodges and two great-step grandchildren, including Paylin Hodges and Easton Mosser.

Chuck served his country with honor as a veteran of the Army and later worked in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He attended Baptist Bible College, where he deepened his faith and nurtured his relationship with God. Although Chuck was not the easiest man to love and get along with, he will be remembered for his strong personality and unwavering dedication to his beliefs.

While Chuck had not seen his family for some time, he had a special connection with his friend Bill, who was his closest confidant. Charles will be missed by those who loved him, and his memory will be kept alive by the cherished memories he leaves behind. Rest in peace, Chuck.
