Carl Raymond Lampkin

Carl Ray Lampkin, 85, of Amarillo, TX passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024. 

Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. 

Carl was born in Crowder, OK in 1939 to Eunice and James Lampkin. He moved to Amarillo and graduated in the first class at Palo Duro High School in 1956. While attending school, he was employed at the Pleasant Valley Fruit Market and later as a produce manager for McCartts and Safeway supermarkets. He retired from Safeway grocers after twenty-four years. Carl proudly served in the US Army. He married Norveta Bammes while she was a student nurse at NWTX Hospital School of Nursing. Later he worked 27 years for ASARCO prior to his retirement. Carl was a member of Paramount Terrace Church and Hillside Christian Church and most recently attended Washington Avenue Christian Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; nine brothers; and one sister. 

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; his wife, Norveta Lampkin; his son, Randy Dwayne Lampkin; his daughter, Angela Beth Lampkin; and brother, Hershel Lampkin age 93 of Logan, NM.
