Candelario M. Lopez also known to many as Cande Man, Mahatt, and YoYo, 89, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on October 12, 2023.

Rosary will be said at 5:00 PM, Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers, 2800 Paramount. Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 16, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Candelario was born February 2, 1934, in Shamrock, TX to Dario Lopez and Maria Mendoza. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and Army. He married Sinfo Chavez on February 11, 1961. Candelario was also Golden Glove Champion. He was a welder and carpenter by trade for Wiley Hicks Construction for many years. Candelario was a member of the Carpentry Union, the G.I. Forum, and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He retired from the City of Amarillo after 10 years. Candelario enjoyed watching Dallas Cowboys Football, Texas Rangers Baseball, Old Westerns, and listening to music. He was the life of the party and always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dario and Maria; 4 brothers; and 6 sisters.

Candelario is survived by his wife, Sinfo; sons, Mark Lopez (Isabel) and Greg Lopez (Kathy); daughters, Laura Valdez (Jason) and Debbie Lopez (James Cavazos); grandchildren, Gregory, Leisha, Callie, Maryssa, Alex, Madison, Joseph, and Dominic; 10 great-grandchildren; and many close sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
