Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Dec. 14, 2013, in St. Martin’s Catholic Church, 1507 N. Adams, with Monsignor Rex Nicholl as celebrant. Interment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Cana was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Ft. Worth to Frank and Catherine O’Connor Willburn. She graduated from St. Anthony’s nursing school in 1951 and worked there for decades before retiring from St. Anthony’s and then retired from the Veterans Administration hospital. In her final years, she was blessed to be cared for by Debra Provence and James Wright of Amarillo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Wright; her father, Frank Willburn; her mother, Catherine O’Connor Willburn; brothers, Edward “Buddy” Willburn and John Willburn.
Survivors include four sons, Kevin Wright and wife Aimee of Taos, NM, Lawrence Wright of Coulterville, CA, James Wright and Debra Provence of Amarillo, Glenn Wright and wife Amy of Grapevine; brothers, James Willburn of Houston, Frankie Willburn of Amarillo, and Dick Willburn of Buena Vista, CO; a sister, Mary Bates of Llano; grandchildren, Lindsay Wright of Portland, OR, Sierra Wright of Taos, NM, Joseph Wright of Albuquerque, NM, Emily, Slaton and Sawyer Wright of Grapevine; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and good friends, Chris Hauser, Cathy Layman and Joann Stapleton.
