It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bradley Todd Dye, 64, of Amarillo, Texas, on August 24. He was born in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1959 to Bill and Yolanda Dye.
Brad grew up in Texas and was a standout football player at Claude High School. He continued playing after graduation, at Tarleton State University, before moving to California where he completed his bachelor’s degree at Cal-State Long Beach.
It was in California he started a family, while working as a computer and network field engineer in aerospace and transportation. He continued in the field after moving back to Amarillo in 2005. He enjoyed the support of the staff he worked with in recent years at Thirty-Nine 23 Management.
Brad cherished time spent with friends, playing golf or darts, or listening to live music. He was passionately dedicated to training, when possible, for the 24 Hours in the Canyon Marathon Bike Ride to support the Cancer Survivorship Center. He was an active member of the Hillside Christian Church in Amarillo.
Brad is survived by his daughter, Jocelyn Dye, of Torrance, California, his stepmother Karli Dye of Amarillo, his brother Brian Dye and wife Candise of Burleson TX, his brother Wayne Dye and wife Olivia of Manhattan Beach CA, his stepbrother Dr. Steve Patton and wife Val of Amarillo Tx, his stepsister Kelly and husband John Conzel of Spring Branch TX, and stepbrother Brent Patton and wife Saudy of Costa Rica. He is also remembered by his nephews and niece. He is preceded in death by his father Bill G. Dye and mother Yolanda Marie Clark.
Brad’s life will be celebrated by family and friends at 1:30pm on October 19, 2024, at Good Nites on the Square, 106 Trice St, Claude, TX. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to go to 24 Hours in The Canyon / Cancer Survivorship Center.
