Bobby James Velasquez, 48, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on October 15, 2023.
Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, Saturday, October 21, 2023, 12-5:00 PM, Sunday, October 22, 2023 and 8:00 AM-8:00 PM, Monday, October 23, 2024 at Boxwell Brothers, 2800 Paramount. Services will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Grace Church, 4111 Plains Blvd. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.
Bobby was born to Patsy and Jesse Velasquez in Amarillo, Texas on February 4, 1975. He graduated from Caprock High School.
Bobby worked as the operations manager and motorcycle mechanic for Amarillo Cycle. He enjoyed working on things and driving fast cars.
Bobby loved his children, his family, and living life with them. He was a very magnetic person and was often found laughing and smiling. He enjoyed watching old western movies, eating burgers with an egg in them, listening to music while he cleaned, and he loved to travel. Bobby loved tattoos and his favorite color was red. Although he looked intimidating on the outside, he was a big teddy bear. Bobby was the first one to help anyone in need. He had a huge heart for Veterans and would often take the homeless his spare clothing and something to eat.
Bobby will be deeply missed, loved, and remembered by his family, friends, and community.
He is survived by his children, Erica Velasquez, Coleby Velasquez, and Zoë Velasquez; grandchildren, Kain Velasquez, and Ezias Velasquez; parents, Patsy and Jesse Velasquez; brother, Stephen Velasquez; nephew, Bobby Bane Velasquez; niece, Lexi Velasquez; great-aunt, Betty Earle and husband Ken; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and countless friends.
