“Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Bobbie Gail Brewer, 79, of Amarillo, TX received her heavenly promotion on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
Gail was born on August 21, 1945. She grew up in Amarillo, Texas and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1963. After Gail graduated from high school, she worked for S.I.C. as a secretary. She later moved to First National Bank, working in the Trust Department. She finished her career at Pantex where she worked for 17 years as an administrative assistant. Gail also spent many years volunteering with her church as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School worker, and leader of the College and Career group.
Gail was married to John Brewer for 30 years, until his passing in 2021. She was a supportive wife who attended countless events, ceremonies, and funerals, assisting John as he played various instruments to honor veterans, first responders and many other patriotic Americans. She was also a devoted mother, grandmother and loyal friend. She loved all things Mickey Mouse and enjoyed watching Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Gail enjoyed tending to her beautiful flower gardens, antique shopping and taking care of her diva cat, Miss Izzy.
Gail was preceded in death by her husband, John Brewer; her mother, Betty Reagh and her brother, J.W. Reagh. Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Howell and husband Doug of Amarillo; her son, Kris Burdis and his wife Crystal of Lubbock; her daughter, Becci Barela and husband Gabe of West Plains, Missouri; her son, John Brewer of Amarillo, as well as one niece, Anna Reagh. Gail also leaves behind five grandchildren: Devin Howell and Mars, Timothy, Iana, and Clara Beth Burdis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kitty Korral Animal Rescue (www.kittykorral.com) or to a favorite charity in her honor.
Family will receive friends and extended family from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Boxwell Brothers, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Llano East Cemetery with Brent Clark officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Funeral Directors.
