Beverly Joy Williams

Beverly Joy Williams went to her Heavenly home on June 7, 2022 at the age of 73, but her impact on the world will continue.

Beverly was born in Amarillo, Texas on February 14, 1949 to Roy and Marjorie Wallace.  She attended Travis Junior High and Palo Duro High School, where many life-long friendships were made.  While attending West Texas State University, she worked at Avis Rent-A-Car, where she met the love of her life, Pat.   They married on August 21, 1969, and spent the next 53 years laughing through good times and challenges, and quietly modeling what love was to all they encountered.   Beverly completed her Bachelor’s degree at West Texas State, and began a career in education that spanned 49 years.  After earning a Master’s degree in Education Leadership, she embarked on a new journey of teaching and guiding adults, as well as children, as a principal.  Throughout the many campuses she led in her career, her passion for learning and inspiring others was shared with thousands.

Beverly and Pat had two daughters, Brandy and Barbara.  She was an amazing mother who loved them fiercely and was proud of the women they grew into.  She taught them strength, kindness, and compassion. Beverly loved the Lord and spent her life doing her best to emulate Christ.  Words frequently used to describe Beverly are devoted, loving, kind, fun, and tough.  She loved her family, her chosen career, friends, and all children.  Beverly’s love grew immensely when she became a Nana to Kaylee and Jacob.  She now had two more partners in crime that she could help mold, protect, and show what unconditional love and support felt like.  Beverly was always on the go and her happiness was contagious to everyone she met.

Although her family is heartbroken over her unexpected passing, they rejoice in the belief that she is in her Heavenly home with her Savior.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Pat; daughter, Barbara Casida; daughter, Brandy Self and spouse Kirk;  grandchildren, Kaylee and Jacob Self; brother, Roy Dan Wallace and spouse Tiffany; brothers-in-law, Tim Williams and spouse Vonda, and Ken Williams and spouse Patti; sister-in-law, Petra Williams; and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Marjorie Wallace; niece, Lindsay Williams; brother-in-law, Mike Williams; and many beloved relatives.  What an amazing reunion they are having.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Paramount Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
