Belva Edith Rowlands Bennett

Belva Edith Rowlands Bennett passed away peacefully on December 12, 2022 at the age of 95.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Curtis House officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

She was born in the mountain town of Laurel Run Borough Pennsylvania on April 16, 1927 to Edith Maslin Rowlands and William Patterson Rowlands.  She married Philip and moved to Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband Philip Clair Bennett Jr. of Amarillo, Texas and two brothers William P. and Robert M. Rowlands.

Belva lived and worked in Amarillo for over 63 years.  She was a loving wife and mother. She owned and operated a bakery located in Central Grocery on 10

th

street. Belva was a long time judge of bakery goods at the local Tri-State fair and active in Home Demonstration. She was a long time member and served in St. Andrews Episcopal Church. She was always full of energy and always on the go. She loved shopping, baking, taking walks and driving sports cars.

Belva is survived by her son William R. Bennett and wife Jenny; three step grandchildren Jesse, Harley and Lacy Henninger and 8 step great grandchildren. She is survived by two steps-sons Phillip and David York and a step-grandchild Alicia York. She is survived by several Rowlands nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by all that knew her.
