Barbara Hollabaugh Daly Windom, 87, of Amarillo, TX passed away on August 30, 2022.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Kevin Deckard officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Barbara was born on October 2, 1934, to Luther and Florence Hollabaugh in Magic City, TX. The family moved to Amarillo in 1942, where she attended Glenwood, Elizabeth Nixon, and Amarillo High schools. Barbara married Joe Daly and lived many places during their stay in the Air Force, including living in France for three years. They had two sons, Michael Daly and Kerry Daly while in the service.
Barbara was a graduate of the dental assistant class of Amarillo College and worked for Dr. John McKeig and Dr. John Austin before becoming the first student in the first class of the Amarillo College Dental Hygiene School. Barbara then worked for Amarillo Dental Group, Dr. Garner in Plainview, Dr. Garrison in Dalhart, and Dr. Richard Brauchi of Amarillo, and retired after 40 years of dental hygiene practice.
Barbara was a member of the American Dental Assistant Society, President of the Panhandle District Dental Assistant Society, member of the American Dental Hygiene Society and the Panhandle District Dental Hygiene Society. Barbara was co-owner of the Apache Rose Gift Shop.
Barbara married Cloyd (Sonny) Windom whom she was introduced to while she was president of the 30 and over dance club.
She was known for her cooking, sewing, decorating, and many hobbies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cloyd (Sonny) Windom; parents, Luther and Florence Hollabaugh; brothers, Harold Hollabaugh, and Kenneth Hollabaugh; and son, Michael Joe Daly.
She is survived by her son, Kerry Rene Daly and wife Blaza Daly, of Amarillo, TX; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Wally Windom and wife Susan, of Dallas, TX, and Phil Windom, of Las Vegas, NV; and a stepdaughter, Jody Rex, of Euless, TX.
