Barbara Ann Curtis of Amarillo, Texas passed away February 18, 2024.

Barbara was born in Statesville, North Carolina on November 13, 1932, to Evelyn Tevepaugh Mitchell and Fred Mitchell. She graduated from Crossnore High School in 1951.
Barbara married Robert Edgar Curtis on December 8, 1951. They met at Crossnore and were married until his passing in 1990.
They were a military family and were very active and dedicated to the Elf Louise project in San Antonio for many years. Barbara was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi service sorority volunteering for countless charities. She worked as a bookkeeper and in retail for 40 years.
They were parents to five children. Pamela Kay, Robert Wayne, Kathryn Lynn, Donna Lee, and Darla Kiy.
Barbara moved to Amarillo in 2014 and made many new friends at Country Estates and the Clairmont retirement communities.
She was an avid bridge player and loved all games.
She was preceded in death by her husband, CMSgt Robert Curtis and her daughter, Pamela, Kay Yenowine.
Survivors include her children, Robert Curtis, Kathryn Woolery, Donna Wilkinson, and Kiy Curtis. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
