Barbara Ann Palmer

Barbara Ann Palmer, 85, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on March 9, 2025. Her memorial service will be at 11: A.M. Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Arrangements are made by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Amarillo, Texas.

Barbara was born on October 29, 1939 in Longview, Texas to Deerwood Wesley O’Donley Sr. and Opal Parker O’Donley. She married Dennis Palmer on February 14, 1999 in Henderson, Texas.

She had worked as a secretary and was a caregiver of her family. She loved to play tennis, golf, fishing, dancing, walking and camping with the love of her life, Dennis. She also enjoyed her summers with her granddaughter and teaching her how to bake and cook oatmeal. Barbara could light up a room just by walking in. She loved everyone with all her heart and was extremely loved back. She will be missed but we know she is with the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her son Gary Johnson and daughter Mitzi Williams, and brother Deerwood O’Donley Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Palmer; daughter, Kathie Lay and husband Levi; granddaughter, Berkleigh Weigle and husband Quentin of Amarillo; Great-Grandson, Dennis Weigle; and brother William DeWitt O’Donley and wife Sylvia.
