Arnulfo Soliz, 75, died peacefully in his home on July 31, 2024.
He was born on February 16, 1949, in New Deal, Texas to Jacinta and Juan Soliz. Arnulfo graduated from Staton High School, class of 1967. After graduation he married the love of his life Carolina "Carrie" LaFuente in May 1969. Following his wedding he was drafted to The Vietnam War to serve In the Army. He left behind his newly pregnant bride, while in Vietnam. Arnulfo assisted in the maintenance of helicopters. Once back in the states, Carrie and Arnulfo had four more kids.
In May 2019, Arnulfo and Carrie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Arnulfo was an entrepreneur and a man of many traits. Before retirement he was the owner of Soliz Painting in which he painted many beautiful homes leaving his legacy to his two sons. He enjoyed woodwork, puzzles, music, western movies, Dutch chocolate ice cream, and entertaining all his children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Later on in life, he spent his retirement with the love of his life and the life they built together. Most of all, he enjoyed family activities when we gathered as a family.
Arnulfo is preceded by his mother, Jacinta, and father, Juan as well as his only sister Aurora, and brothers John, Frank, and Ray.
Arnulfo is survived by his beloved wife Carrie Soliz; Children, Amanda Perez, Andrew Soliz, Jacinta Salas, Timmy Soliz, and Andrea Lozano, all of Amarillo, Texas and their spouses; 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren; his siblings Isdel Soliz and Jimmy Soliz of Plainview, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Power Church at 10 a.m. Viewing will be on Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. The Rosary will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Llano Cemetery.
