Antonio Malacara Solis, 92, of Amarillo, TX died January 2, 2024.
Visitation with the family will be from 6-7:00 PM, Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Kiley David Murray officiating and military rites by Volleys for Veterans. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Antonio was born August 20, 1931, in Amarillo, TX to Jesus and Isabel Solis. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. For more than 38 years, he worked as a diesel electrician for Santa Fe Railroad. Antonio was a member of the American Legion and First Christian Church. He loved farming.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Solis, and his daughter, Jessica Solis.
Survivors include his sons, Ruben Solis and wife Lynn, and Jessie Solis and wife Robyn, all of Amarillo, TX; his daughter, Isabel Thurmon and husband William, of Amarillo, TX; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Michael, Andrew, Anthony, Abbey, Anaiyah, Ciarra, and Jordan; and 7 great-grandchildren.
