Annetta Faye Bradt Loomis McIver was born on September 12, 1955, in Alva, Oklahoma to Rex Dale and Twila Valee (Castor) Bradt. She left this life to be with her Lord and Savior on February 13, 2025.
Annetta grew up in Freedom, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school in May of 1973. She moved to Alva, Oklahoma to attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University where she graduated in May of 1978 with a degree in Business Administration and double minors in Secretarial and Economics.
Annetta married Donald Eugene Loomis in Freedom, Oklahoma on June 2, 1978. To this union one child, Dawn Michelle Loomis was born on November 21, 1980.
On December 28, 1982, she married the love of her life, Charles Leslie McIver, in the World Famous Chapel of the Bells in Las Vegas, Nevada. They resided in Freedom for a short time and moved to Perryton, Texas in 1983. In 1985, they moved to Spearman, Texas where they resided for 24 years. Annetta joined the First United Methodist Church and the Town and Country Extension Homemaker Club where she was awarded Woman of the Year in 1992.
Annetta enjoyed hobbies including cooking, baking, canning, volunteering, crafting, sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, crocheting, babysitting, and mentoring children. You would find her singing and dancing with Dawn, and cleaning the house to Carol King, Janis Joplin, Creedence Clearwater, and George Strait. She also had a prison ministry of writing letters to inmates, which gave her such joy.
In 1999, Annetta pursued her dream of attending manicurist school in Borger, Texas where she graduated top of her class. She opened Netta’s Nails in Spearman in December of that year. She also worked briefly as a nail technician at Jan’s Beauty Shop in Perryton.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her step-mother, Edythe Bradt; her three brothers, Jerrel Burnell Bradt, Myron J. Bradt, and Gary Neil Bradt; and two sisters-in-law, Teresa Bradt and Margaret Ann Eller.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Loomis, of Amarillo, Texas; her two step-children, Charles “Bub” (Jessica) McIver, of Chico, Texas, and Teresa (Fred) Surgis, of Amarillo, Texas; her chosen children, Michelle Lynn Zarate, Crystal Gail Salcido, Linda Pauline Conway, Quinton Tyler Bethel, and Brian Adam Boyd; her five grandchildren, Emily Thompson, Grace and Moses McIver, and Colton and Bryce Juarez; her great-granddaughter, Thea Thompson; her bonus grandchildren, Kalee Jo Kirkland, Jaden Boling, and Tyson Dale Harmon; her step-brother, Darin (Denise) Harris, of Yukon, Oklahoma; her sister-in-law, Charlene Bradt-Rohrer, of Buffalo, Oklahoma; her best friend, Charles McIver, of Amarillo, Texas; her fur babies, Molly Jane and Maverick Chance; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Her funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 22, 2025, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, Texas, with Larry Virnau officiating. She will be laid to rest at Freedom Cemetery in Freedom, Oklahoma at 3:30 P.M., Saturday, February 22, 2025. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Amarillo.
Viewing will be available from 10:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 18, 2025, and 8:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, Texas.
For those who are unable to attend the service in person, the service will be livestreamed to the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Facebook page. The livestream will become available five minutes before the service begins.
