Anna Ruth Mcdermott

Anna Ruth McDermott, 77, of Amarillo, TX passed away January 18, 2024.

Visitation will be from 1-2:00 PM, Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 22, 2024, at Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Anna McDermott, a selfless caregiver, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, left a lasting impact on the lives of those around her. Her nurturing spirit touched the hearts of many, and her legacy will forever be cherished. Anna worked tirelessly for others after caring for and losing her mother Ruth and her husband Chuck. Her passion for caring led her to a career as a home health care provider where she had many clients to keep her busy. During this time she became very close and developed a long-time friendship with Richard Hatfield. The two gave each other purpose and a wonderful friendship that they both truly needed.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother Alvin Norman and Ruth Norman and her husband Chuck McDermott.

She is survived by her loving family, Charlotte Blanton (Daughter), Charlie McDermott (Son), and Adrienne Daisernia, including four grandchildren Sean, Ryan, Jessika, and Robert who were the light of her life.

Anna’s commitment to others and her family-first attitude exemplify the true meaning of selflessness.
