Alan was born on June 8, 1955, in Loveland, CO. He graduated from Greeley County High School in 1973. After graduating high school, he married Loretta Martinez and in January of 1980, they welcomed their first daughter, Ashley. In May of 1983, they had their second daughter, Lindsey. Alan and his family continued to live in Tribune where he spent over 30 years with Mangan Inc / Tribune Rendering. He was an active member on the Greeley County Fair Board and Tribune’s Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

In 1997, Alan and his family moved to Amarillo where he took on a management position with Valley Proteins for 24 years. Alan retired in November of 2020 and moved back to Tribune in March of 2021.

Alan was one of the kindest, gentlest, hardest-working, men we knew. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends unconditionally. He was best known for his positive attitude and courageous strength. In April of 1985, Alan received the miracle of a kidney transplant. That kidney blessed Alan with great health for nearly 20 years. In 2006, Alan had to undergo his first open heart surgery which resulted in the loss of his donated kidney. Alan fought through nearly 16 years of dialysis, endured a couple of open-heart surgeries, and lived through an undetected rip of his aorta. Over the years, he continued to fight complications related to his heart, and lungs, he battled a few rounds of pneumonia and beat the odds of many blood infections. He dealt with pacemakers and afib of the heart. He fought a hard battle with multiple skin cancers and undergoing chemo treatments this past year. With all the health complications he fought, his attitude remained positive and triumphant through all the struggles. He fought hard until the end. He was never one to give up; the love he had for his family kept him fighting.

Donations may be made in honor of Alan Morgan Memorial Fund, which will be dispersed between Fresenius Dialysis Center, Amarillo, TX, & St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tribune, KS.
