Alan Lynn Gormley

Alan Lynn Gormley, 74, of Corinth, TX a beloved father, grandfather, brother, husband, and friend went to be with our Lord on February 18, 2023.  He was born on February 14, 1949, in Spokane, Washington, to Helen and Herbert Gormley.

Alan grew up in Fairfield, Idaho as the youngest of four boys.  He served in the US Air Force for six years during the Vietnam war, before receiving an Honorable discharge.  He met his wife, Ruth Ann Gormley, towards the end of his military service and they remained happily married for twenty-two years, prior to her passing.

Alan was a Christian man who loved everything to do with being outdoors.  He also was an avid poker player and Cowboy shooter, who loved to ride his Goldwing motorcycle on the weekends and on several cross-country trips.  Alan was employed at Asarco for thirty-five years until he retired; he then enjoyed working part-time at Academy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Helen Gormley; and wife, Ruth Ann Gormley.  He is survived by his three older brothers, Dave, Vic, and Tom Gormley; daughter, Kelly Perkins, husband Don; grandchildren, Cody Perkins, Sara Walser, and Chelsea Fosmoen. Alan is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A  service will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., on Saturday, February 25, 2023, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel by Pastor Glen Stocker. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
