Doug True, 72, of Amarillo died Sunday, April 22, 2018.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Family Life Church, 3900 SW 58th. with Robbie Ashlock officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Doug was born June 11, 1945, in Borger to James and Lois True. He married Marcella Cantrell on August 12, 1970, in Amarillo. He was a member of Family Life Church. Doug was a Vietnam Vet and served with the Big Red One in Vietnam.
Doug enjoyed fishing, collecting coins, and traveling in his R.V. He was known for telling jokes and stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Mickey, Freddy and Ronnie True.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella True, of Amarillo; two daughters, Kim Huseman and husband Frank, and Alyssa Allison and husband, Scott, all of Amarillo; two sons, Chris True and Tyler True, both of Amarillo; a brother, James True, of Borger; seven grandchildren, Alexis Baggett and husband David, of Austin, Kelsea Mann and husband Andrew, Shayce Allison, Braxton Giles, and Brantz Allison, all of Amarillo, James True, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Nicholas True, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and three great-grandchildren, Raylan, Zander and Evalynn.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the funeral home.
