Dolores Spencer – December 22, 2017

Dolores Spencer died December 22, 2017 at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital.
She was born September 22, 1934 in Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Lowell and Pauline Damon. She grew up in Ulysses with her two brothers Donald and Darrell Damon.
Dolores left Ulysses and attended the Salt City Business College in Hutchinson, Kansas. Upon graduation, she secured employment at the Pentagon in Washington, DC.  Her adventurous spirit then took her to South America where she lived in Brazil for a few years.
Dolores returned home to Kansas and married Norman Spencer in 1960 at the Ulysses Christian Church. They lived on a farm until 1974 when they moved to Amarillo to start their own business.
Dolores was a partner in the business, a published author and homemaker. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and going out for ice cream.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Norman Spencer; her daughter, Melinda Spencer, her grandchildren, Grace Spencer Verrinder, Dana Williams and Damon Williams; her great-granddaughter, Krysten Williams, and her brother, Darrell Damon.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, April Williams, and brother, Donald Damon.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Robison Chapel, First Christian Church with Reverend Barry Loving, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

    My dearest Norm and Melinda. Lehmer and I are so very sorry for your loss of Delores. She was always such a special person. I know you will miss her terribly but God has a plan for each of us. We send our love. Sue and Lehmer

    Dear Norm, I’m sorry to read about Dolores. You both were so good to me way back in the day at Conklin and it was always such a pleasure to see you around town and even at an airport. I give you all my prayers during this time of loneliness. Blessings Karla
